SouthArk’s Arts in April celebration will have a program, “The Future of Storytelling: Insights from Local Authors.” The program will at noon on 24 April at the Mahony Family Library. For information: www.facebook.com/southarklibrary
Marilyn received a 3rd Prize for her poem “In the Corner” in the Poets Roundtable of Arkansas’ Freeda Baker Nichols Memorial Award Contest.

Writing from Prompts: Desireé read her story “April Showers and Flowers,” Janet read “Morning Rhapsody,” Jack read “Between the Worlds.”

Prompts for our next meeting include: 1) “Something new appeared in the sky” (more or less from Writers Digest) but it wouldn’t have to be “in the sky”, 2) May Day (the spring holiday) or the distress call Mayday – from the French “m’aidez” which means “help me,” 3) “Nobody knows what you think you saw,” and 4) (as always)... "Anything You Want."

We critiqued “Chapter 15” of Rick’s “Requiem For A McGuffin” and “Eclipsed Eclipse,” a short story by Desireé. Both got some good suggestions and we had some interesting discussions.

If anyone has something to be critiqued, a news item, another prompt for our next meeting, or would like to present a short “program” on something that you think would be of interest to us all, you can email me at jackwryan@gmail.com
