Hi Everyone,

The South Arkansas Writers met at 2 PM on Sunday, 20 September 2026 at Main Street Pizza in El Dorado. Present were Jack and Janet Ryan, Marilyn Joyner, Rick Vosper, Desireé Stipp-Bethune, and Simeon Stipp-Bethune.

Our next meeting will be at 2 PM on 18 October 2026.

News: No news this month. Don’t know if that’s good or bad, but that’s it.

Writing from Prompts:
1) Desireé read her story, “Therapy.”
2) Marilyn read her poem, “Autumn in Arkansas.”
3) Janet read her poem, “In the Heart of the Pines.”
4) Jack read his story, “The Dragon’s Problem.”

Prompts for our October meeting include: 1) A story or poem told by a ghost, 2) Sometimes I’m lucky, 3) A Halloween topic, 4) Where the wind blows, and 5)(as always)... Anything You Want.

We critiqued Rick’s Chapter 6 of his novel, “Crooked Ponies,” and Jack’s Chapter 27, “Blue Suede Shoes,” from his “The Centaurian Bud Vase” novel. We had some interesting discussions and some good suggestions.
